Social activities of the Society are intended to promote greater communication and friendship among Indians in the area, and especially to increase the sense of Indian unity. Included are formal ceremonies and receptions for tribal delegates and other distinguished visitors to the Capitol; get-togethers with Indian organizations in Washington D.C. as well as from of other Eastern cities; and the Society's own activities scheduled each month for the members. 

Entertainment is provided for individual visitors or groups from a reservation through a dance program, dinner, or other event One summer, the group entertained those Indians who came to Washington in the Poor People's Campaign. Participation in Presidential Inaugural activities has ranged from marching in parades to sponsoring the American Indian Inaugural Balls. 

Social activities for the members include dances, suppers, picnics, trips and other get-togethers, in addition to the monthly business meeting and coffee hour, and crafts night. A favorite event is the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner where traditional Indian cooking is the feature of the day. Another very popular event is our Halloween party, which is the only time we wear costumes.
